99 5.2 l 8cyl. crank no start
Just because it's 2 yrs old doesn't mean it's good and your connections are clean and tight.
When I read "keep foot on gas to keep it going" I immediately thought battery or connections.
These trucks do some crazy things with low voltage to the PCM.
I'd check the battery and connections before going through the troubles of anything else.

take it to an autozone, advance, or somewhere else like that and get your battery load tested, they'll do it for free. Check that your terminals are making good connection to the battery post and the wires (where the terminals clamp on) for corrosion or looseness
okay so i got the car started after bleeding the fuel line ( gas did spray a bit not too much and air came out) i can hear the pump kick on. once the car started i had to keep my foot on the gas because once i let off it died. after a few minutes the car ran fine and idle where its suppose to. why would my car die once the foot is off the gas is this still the fuel pump or the choke?
the most common cause of this specific problem (foot on gas to start, and hold throttle open for a few minutes before it will idle on its own) is a bad IAC valve/motor, it controls the airflow through the throttle body on idle and when it gets old/worn out it doesnt adjust fas enough, holding the throttle open on a cold start works around this issue, and holding it open until it catches up, this also warms the engine up and makes it easier to keep running so the IAC works less (yes this is being explained in VERY basic terms).
start by replacing this and resetting the PCM and get back to us, it is located on the back of the tb and held in by two torx head bolts (sorry idk what size torx they are)
Lets start with the basic's. Do you have spark at the spark plugs? Have you check fuel pump pressure? And if you have, what was the pressure reading. The fuel filter is in the fuel tank, so you would need to remove the fuel pump to replace the filter. If you spray starting fluid into the throttle and try starting the engine, Does it start and run? If it does, I would add more fuel to the tank. The float maybe bad causing you to think you have fuel in the tank, when it really empty.
I'm thinking a bad fuel pump because of this:
There should not be air in the fuel line and there should be about 50+psi of fuel in that line.

I'm guessing you have a plastic gas tank?
One trick you could try when it acts up is take a hammer and beat the bottom side of the gas tank about where the fuel pump is while someone is cranking your D
I know that sounds crazy but I've done it to numerous of my friends dodges so they could get their truck home. Hell I even did it to my old 97 RAM for a week after the fuel pump went out to get back n forth to work lol
Now if it starts while u do this then 99% of the time it means a bad pump.
