Smile TMR Mod - Complete

So I read that if you have the 3 plug PCM you can open up the connector on your TCM and remove the yellow wire with the green tracer and it is supposed to get rid of the Torque Management at WOT. I did this but was un able to open up the part of the connector that would have easily allowed me to remove this wire, so I in turn just cut the wire. I took it for a spin and at WOT you can definitely feel the firmer shifts. Now I need to get the 45/545RFE line pressure booster and i'll call it good.

have you learned NOTHING from reading here??

you NEVER EVER cut factory wiring when it can be avoided, now if you ever decide to sell the truck and go back to stock you will be unable to do so cleanly. Whenever i look at a car i look over the wiring to see if has been modified, if it has been i wont buy it because it causes too many hard to figure out problems.

I sell on craigslist, nobody will look at the TCM wiring. Worst case I go buy a little wire and re connect it. No Harm No foul. But thanks anyways for basically calling me an idiot, I really appreciate the brotherhood from DodgeForum.

That still isn't right for the next person who owns it (pertaining to the Craigslist comment) he's just looking out for your best interest. My father always told me "if your gonna do something do it right"

Well anyway the mod is doing just fine so far, I really like it. Like I said getting a line booster is in the works.

what do you mean by line booster? iv never heard of them being used in transmissions, if it is (as it sounds) something which would increase line pressure, you should make sure that the pressure increase is not going to be more than the seals and internals can handle.

Its a Sonnax Line pressure booster. All it is, is a OEM wire with a resistor in it, it increases the PSI by about 15 to 20. People have been doing this for a while now and have had no reported problems.

So lets get this straight, you are increasing the line pressure by change the voltage out put from the tcm correct? So why not get a programmer and adjust it that way? No messing with wires and the tuning company probably knows the limits it can be done to. Also it is undo by the press of a button. Like your enthusiasm though Moparman, just not how you did it. Even though I have friends do this kinda stuff all the time cause it is the cheapest way.
