Default Exhaust

Looking for ideas.. I wanna install headers on my 2000 4.7l. My thoughts are geared towards better gas mileage not power... Any suggestions or thoughts?

save your money and instead learn how to keep your right foot off the floor board

headers will not give you enough of a gain (some would say no gain in fuel economy) to justify the expense (they are VERY expensive)

+1, you need to be moving substantially more air by means of a cam or head work (both probably) to justify headers. I would do the home brew CAI, change your plugs with the factory champions and gap accordingly. Also would use a good synthetic motor oil and like sharps said learn a new driving technique.

Certainly not a lead foot here.. The right side exhaust is leaking at the gasket and I was just thinking if I had it off would headers be a good replacement... I will replace the cai just for something to try. Thanks for the input I'll keep updates on here.

I would repair the exhaust leak. That would be a lot better than replacing them with headers.
