I never liked the new style much. I guess mainly because of the skimpy looking tires in relation to the bigger body size of the new durango. Most 1st generation durangos has a nice good factory sized tire in relation to the body which gave it a really nice even look to it. But I saw a custom new gen Durango riding on factory 20x9's with 55 series tires and it made the new Durango really stand out now.

Well, I wasn't going to say anything, but since you asked...

1) I detest the rear tail lights.
2) I hate the look of the fender flares
3) No roof rack and side molding options make it look absolutely...well...gag me!
4) Basically, the new Durango looks like a Caravan with a Ram hood and Mustang fenders.

OK, there you go. You asked for it.

You guys are awesome... I thought I only detested the Durango, but it seems we share the hatred. Dodge should look at this forum and RE-REDESIGN THE DODGE DURANGO BACK TO IT'S OLD LOOK AND FRAME.
RIP Durango
1998-2003.

Well it's kind of with you not around...
Till the day we meet again...
In my heart I'm going to keep you friend...

"Out with the old, in with the new"- NOT IN THIS CASE! The new Durango may be bigger in size, but it will never be able to walk in the footsteps of the legendary 1st generation. Some of the styling is questionable, for instance, what is the sloped hood all about? A truck is supposed to pull up BOLD! I agree when some say it looks like a beefed up caravan. Everyone here is screaming Hemi, Hemi, well to be honest, and not to take away any glory from the legendary Hemi, I love my 5.9 and I hate that Dodge dropped it. I think it may be one of the best engines ever built. Dependable too! So in my humble opinion, keep the old, and watch it roll.

I definitely like the old ones better, definitely a lot tougher looking. Dodge took a very tough, distinctive looking truck and turned it into a weak looking minivan wannabe. The proportions are all wrong, the hood is too short, the windows are too short for the sides, the headlights are too big making the fenders look too small, and the taillights don't fit the truck at all. That being said the current Durango was Dodge's test bed for it's current design of the 2005 Dakota and 2006 Ram, which look much better then the Durango

Some of these designers I don't know what goes through their mind. The BMW 7 series was redesigned horribly: terrible! Now the new Ford Mustang (In my sig) is spectacular because it has the family heritage...roots. Why did those people have to ruin the Durango?? Why not another car? Damn.

I like this one, everything about it.

Let me add, the same redesigners of the Durango probably redesigned the Mercedes Benz g class:

The older one is much better:

WHERE IS THE RESEMBLANCE... Daimlerchrysler, you're losing your touch.
