Default Ignition/park shift interlock system

where is it located at? is it in the trans or the steering column? 2000 Durango

134 looks and nobody knows where it is at?

the brake/shift interlock is just a mechanical system in the steering column, i assume this is what you are looking for.

however the general thought on it is that 2000s (at least most of them) did not get this feature. If you have the 'old' interior it is unlikely that you have it.

Thank you, Daughter said it was making noise in the column before this problem started, beginning to think it just may be better to put in a shop, did the obd2 reader and no codes came up. going to disconnect the cable today and see what happens.

the ignition interlock is not going to throw a code, it is a MECHANICAL system, not an electronic one.

It is tied into the ignition lock right there in the column.

was working on it some more today, changed the filter and fluid, seemed to shift better now, I noticed today that the indicator on the column is not lined up with the marking anymore, she did not say anything about that, is this another indication of a problem in the tranny?
