side note to all of this. the abs pump runs continuously. i mean so long as it has power(plugged in) it runs, no matter if the key is in the ignition or not. just thought i'd throw that in. i doubt these issues are linked.

also another question? the ground wire the attaches to the body right above the brake fluid reservoir goes to the back of the engine on the drivers side correct?

Have you had your battery load tested yet a weak battery can cause major problems with a durango

no i havent yet. we tried a couple of known good batteries. But i see that statement a lot here on DF so it worries me.

The thing is, it runs the starter with ease. It doesnt have a weak sound to it when we try to crank it. Its getting Fuel for sure(very strong smell of it if we crank it for a little while) which makes me think that ASD relay which i cant seem to find isnt doing it either, since that controls both coils and injectors.

The only thing im not getting here is spark. Due to no juice at the coils
if the timing chain jumped a tooth would the PCM kill spark? or would it just run badlly???

The code that i get back is P0340 no cam signal at the PCM. we switched the cam sensor from the other engine that ran fine(except for the bad piston rings and bent intake valve lol) and same code comes back.
I've checked for voltage from the PCM to cam sensor and i get 5v, i've checked for continuity for ground, supply and signal at the cam sensor connector. All have continuity.
Is there a way to bench test the cam sensor?? to see if it is able to send a signal back to the PCM.

Im trying to rule out all other possibilities before i start looking for a PCM.

Thank you for all the help received so far as well as for any further assistance given.

P.S. the wires for the coils run back to the fuse box(PDC) right? Where do they go from there?
