have you checked the wiring harness to make sure you didn't pinch it when installing the other engine

its at the normal level while driving. However when i come to a stop it dips down and the check gauge light comes on. Yes the oil pan was removed, a new gasket installed and the sump tube replaced.
Also have a p0500 code come up for the speed sensor. This i would expect is affecting the speedo??

There are two common sensors in relation to tranny shifting and speedo issues, One sensor is locate on top of the rear axle. The other sensor at the end of the tranny where the axel connects to. These two sensors works together so if one goes out, it is best to replace both.

These sensors are commonly known to go out. I already had one of these went out on mine and decided to change both out so I don't have to go back underneath the truck again to replace the other.

I got mine from Auto Zone, but whatever. Replace both the transmission output sensor and the rear axle sensor. Many other automotive parts stores including the dealer have the parts.

Replace the PCV valve and check the oil level, also could be a bad oil pressure sensor.

Replace your TPS. Also take the Throttle Body off and clean the thing entirely out. I use 2 cans of TB cleaner or, carb cleaner, and an old tooth brush. Also blow out all the ports inside the TB. Make a good note to clean out the IAC port really good and give it a clean job too. Just don't push the plunger in on the IAC when cleaning, you will break it!

New cam sensor and she ran purrrtty again.
Oh, glad to see you got your fix.

has anyone ever tried ebay for the abs sensors? Just found one for 50. Just wondering if anyone had input on them. Should i go for it and see what happens or run far far away?

updates...

So according to the dealer. The speedo issue was due to some bad wiring somewhere near the PDC. they supposedly repaired them(even tho i can't find any new wiring in the area) and reset every thing. Speedo works

Now... on to the oil pressure issue. Put a gauge on it. When cold idling im getting about 20 psi. When it just gets to operating temp im barely getting 10 psi. If i keep it running it'll dip lower than 4 and want to shut itself down. (for obvious reasons)
So i assume the oil pressure regulator valve in the pump is no good currently have the parts ordered and will be picking up soon.

My question is on the timing chains. when i had the oil pan off i noticed a chunk of chain guide in there.
Whats the recommended Timing chain and related parts maintenance schedule? Real world schedule??

Also have a few more electrical gremlins...
notice when i turn the steering wheel to the left the airbag light comes on. Is this a common issue? simple fix??

TIA

the oil pressure is hopefully just a pump (makes the most sense) so you are on the right track there

the timing chains dont have a formal schedule(they are meant as a lifetime part), when something goes wrong replace the whole shebang chain guides ect (soundslike you are there if you have a piece of the guide in the pan)

turning the steering wheel and getting an airbag light would be the clockspring, it carries all the wires through the steeringwheel for horn, airbag, cruise control, audio controls ect, replace that and the problems should go away.
