Default V10 Durango??

My buddy is selling an 8.0 V10 from his ram that is in excellent shape(he was rear ended). Is there any way Id be able to swap that V10 in my 2000 5.9? Or am I just dreaming? I was thinking it would be to large...

I would think it is to big, the 360 just fits in there. But with enough time and money anything is possible. I would grab the tranny as well, and the ecu to make it easier. Be some crazy power though...

Like said above grab the ecu and all the wiring you can get along with the tranny and transfer case. If a guy can shove a cummins in one of these babys why wont a v10 fit

If u do it, lots of pics! I'd love to see that. But +1 on grabbing the ecu, trans, wiring harnesses, etc.

I saw somewhere an off road project where a viper v10 was stuffed in one, they said that the firewall had to be modified back like 8". It is a project if you want one, lots of custom modification.

That's the first thing I thought of when I read this. Know the exact one your talking about.

I'd have to agree with everyone on grabbing the tranny with it. That would be at the top of my list as far as parts go. And then whatever wiring you can take too

as stated make sure to grab the PCM (anyone who calls it an ECU needs to be careful, shops know better and if you say that will take you to the cleaners)

i have seen it done in a dakota so i dont see any reason why it couldnt be done in a durango

Too large, major modification needed for a v10. The firewall is one of them.. Anutter thing is a truck v10 is not all that special, and with the money spent on adapting you could double a 5.9.

Thanks for all the replies. I don't feel like moving the firewallback 8"...lol It's to big a project for me. I was hoping it would be a plug and play type a thing since the v10 is just a bigger 5.9.... For all the money I'd need I think I'm better off buying a supercharger. That's something I'm goin to look into.
