I have about a half a tank of bad gas thats been in the tank for about 3 years or so,, I was wanting to see if it would hurt anything if I pop my gas line off at top of my motor an let the fuelpump pump out the gas with the key on,, Can I do this or will it be bad,, I just trying to keep from haven to take the gas tank off,,, Cause I don't want something like this to happen>>>> lol,, I can add a hose an run it to another 6 gallon tank but don't want to mess up nothing,,, So will the fuelpump in the tank pump out the ol gas with the key on,,,????

The pump will run with the key in the run position and the vehicle off.

i dont see why it wouldnt work, but it will not get 100% of the gas out, so whatever you put back into it should be higher octane than what is called for

+1 on the higher octane gas. Additives just don't cut it when you have that old stuff in there.

Ok,, Thanks all,,, Now the reason I wanting to pump out some of the old gas is because when I start my D up she fires right up when turn key on,, nice an smooth,, Just a couple seconds she dies,, An keeps doing this everytime,, Like I said before this D has been setting for couple years also,,,,I mite even have to take an clean out the injectors but as good as it runs it seems to run out of gas an this is whats makeing er die on me,,,

Have u tried maybe keeping the pedal pushed down to see if that helps? Bad gas could cause it but so could a bad battery and many other things
