Default 2000 Durango 4.7L Cold Start

I have a 2000 Durango with a 4.7L, I live in Minnesota, so the winters are cold. When I start it, especially in the morning, it takes about 10 seconds to start and there is a strong odor of fuel. I always turn the key on and let the fuel pump prime and does occur occasionally when the engine is warmed up. There i no engine light, and recently I reset the starting information in the computer (I disconnected the battery, turn the key to start for greater than 15 seconds.)

Does anybody have any ideas?

Have you tried a battery with more cold cranking amps?

Replace your spark plugs. Go to your auto parts store and get the cheap Champion Copper plugs, nothing else. Gap them to .040 and install.

That too since you said the smell of fuel was present.

I will replace the plugs today and see. I had previous problems that would affect the plugs.

Who really knows, better to replace them for $20 bucks then not at all.

Could also be your IAC sensor.
