Default Thinking about buying a 2003 Durango.

So I have a 99 but I test drove a 2003 4.7L, 4x4 and liked it. Took her to my mechanic and he said that driverside upper, and lower ball joints needed to be replaced, and lower ball join on passenger side. Also output seal on T-case leaking, and rear pinion seal likes but everything else checked out.

So I asked the dealership to drop the price 1000 and they are getting back to me. Would you consider buying a truck with those problems as long as it as clean, motor, tranny, and other things checked out well?

They lowered it from 6200 to 5900, I currently have them at 4500.

4500 seems like a pretty decent deal....As long as it seems the trucks been takin good care of...Try and do a carfax and see if it has any receipts or previous service records for it.

140k miles for a 2003 and they still want 4500? I got my 2001 with 108k and paid 4200 for it and it had no mechanical problems at all.

Seems a little steep, especially with $4.00/gallon gas... Gas guzzlers are hard to sell right now.

Keep tryin to get em down a little. My 2000 R/T ran me $3800 before my trade in. Granted it had 207,xxx miles, but it also looks and runs like it has 100,000.

My mechanically and cosmetically perfect (for its age) 2001 SLT+ with 112K on it cost me $7000 in December, but it was also the fully loaded version with a DVD system even. They had a nice 02 SLT that was only about $4500ish with lower mileage, just not as fancy, it also sold a lot faster.
