maybe your drums are worn alot and the linings couldn't get over the lip that was created? At least you got them off.

He said he backed the shoes off before he tried pulling them.

What he is talking about is the seporation between the axle end plate and the drum. I feel his pain, they never like to come off for me either. I hope you put anti-seize on that contact point to aid in removal next time, if ever.

I don't know who invented drum brakes, but if that ******* is still alive could somebody give him a good solid kick in the nuts for me?

Ah, I misunderstood what he was saying. Yeah that can be bitch.
+1 on the antiseize

In the defense of the guy that invented drums, they were high-tech for the day, but they really can be a pain in the *** and I share the frustration with you guys
