A littled worried to upgrade this..
I wanna upgrade to 1.7 rollers on my 00 R/T. I was plannin on getting New pushrods also and replacing my plenum gasket too, even though it doesnt look like its leaking ill feel better about it being fixed and just to learn some general knowledge,
Now what in worried about is my D having 210,000 miles. Will I take the risk of blowing out the bottm end? Ive seen/heard of people doing top end work and shortly after getting a rod knock. Thanks in advance guys!

ya i threw around the idea of just rippin it out and rebuilding it, ill run a compression check and see what it comes out like. I have no knock, tick, or any engine noise at all. i have lots of power, just starting to think im gettin a clogged CAT. Starting to get a very noticeable hiss out of the exhaust passed 3000 rpm. never had that before :-(
+1, usually a clogged CAT will give a loss of power rather than a noise of a leak. Sounds to me like there is a small exhaust leak as well, as far as the hissing noise is going, because you won't really notice any power loss.

i had the little bit of a hiss from the exhaust with the stock muffler also, and i cant seem to find and leaks. my glasspack i threw on is only clamped so that could be my hiss. the stock exhaust on my durango is 2.5", so i ordered a 2.5" diameter 18" flowtech redhot glasspack and just clamped it on and put a 2.5" turndown on it and it REALLY hissed, so i took off the downpipe and it sounds amazing, just a little loud on the cab. i do want to put a flowmaster 40 or 44 on it, but i just dont care for tailpipes. I did have the wife give it a good rev today while i was actually outside the vehicle and it really doesnt hiss as bad as i thought it did, so im gonna have my buddy weld the glasspack on and see what it sounds like after, then maybe find a 3" stock style tailpipe setup and run it out the back and call it a day :-)
I had the same problem when I got my magnaflow done by a shop...picked it up the next day and started it and it sounded great but there was a hiss/spiting sound. Crawled under it and you could see the water coming out of the spots where they spot welded the exhaust on...needless to say I walked in and asked WTF? What did he say? Oh you wanted it welded all the way on? No we dont do that here...No I told you to please weld my new muffler on and only wanted you to clamp and spot weld it on...
Wow. A buddy's dad is gonna weld the muffler on for now. Then I'm gonna see if a local exhaust shop will run 3" after that, I love the sound of flowmaster but it's just not in the budget for me yet, and I love the way this glass pack rumbles just too much in cab for my daughter an I'm sure it will be for my newborn
