Default Thermostat Question

While doing my plenum A: I lost one of the bolts and CANNOT FIND IT ANYWHERE...so where could I buy a replacement? Also, the thermostat I bought came with a rubber o-ring. I have no idea where this goes...? Thanks in advance, Dom

As for the bolt Im not sure what type it is but I wold take one down to any decent hardware store and try to match it up. The o ring might be for the thermostat but I have never gotten a rubber one before

O-ring comes because it is a generic kit, use the paper gasket.

Well I found the bolt after a few more hours of searching. Of course it managed to squeeze its way so far down I had to tear apart a bunch of stuff to be able to grab it...Anyway I put everything back together, but know I have a problem. 1st: There is a very small amount of smoke coming out of my intake manifold....2nd: Its smoking really bad where the lower and upper rad hose connect where the metal cap is. I dont see any leaking coolant, just a lot of smoke and condensation around it....Please help. I sometimes think my Durango's only goal is to make my life miserable....Thank you

the 2nd part is probably steam not smoke and it is likely from loose connections with the hoses right there.

you just did the plenum gasket from the first post, i would say oil coming out would mean you did not succeed, however it is also possible that it is just residual rtv burning off from the heat of a hot engine, beyond that idk what would cause smoke to come out of the tb, but i would say that it is not a good thing

Ok today I took it for a little ride and it overheated! When I turned it off I heard a hissing noise I found under the alternator and a little smoke....Not really sure what this could be? Also I saw my valve covers were leaking really bad which was causing smoke to! Grr

Ok, today I noticed my coolant level was pretty darn low in my radiator after running it for a few minutes. When I turned it off, I kept hearing like a gurgling noise coming from the radiator...Also the hose that connects to the thermostat(upper?) IS really really hot but the one going in the radiator(lower?) is cold...like not even a lil warm...Is this normal? HELP! I dont want to take it to a mechanic
