For the record, 265/65-18 is only 31.56" overall diameter, and 10.43" wide, so you will be fine even without the shackles.

i agree stay away from retreads, tire are expensive but not that expensive and its a safety hazzard when retreads come off, something that could creat that kind of hazzard i always do correctly

Retreads should only be used on semi's/commercial size trucks on the rear duals. Never on steering wheels. Think of it this way, how many vehicles have good tread and weather cracked or just plain beat up side walls? Then trying to double that life expectancy, no thanks........

Check out discount tire direct they have pretty competetive prices and free shipping. As for the 31's I upped to a more agressive tire in a 265/75/16 on my 02 and they rubbed a little with stock height I didn't have to trim much but without trimming it was a loud bad sounding rub when turning

You really just have to know the space available in the wheel well and the height of the tire your switching to. I have 295/45R20 BFG's on 20X10's in the summer and they don't rub with no lift. Just measure and check fit (if that's an option) and you will never have any problems!

alwaysclean, your tires equate to an approximately 30 x 11.6 inch tire, these trucks came from the factory with a 31inch tall tire option, so you should not have expected any problems.

I wasn't completely sold on the retreads they sounded good. But its still a retread. I have some time to shop around before I'm getting tires.

Yeah, I agree don't even think twice about going with a retreaded tire, like adukart said they are meant for commercial grade vehicles on the rear wheels when there is a DRW setup or for mud tires, in which the vehicle is towed to the mud hole and not road driven...
