Default lift

I know there are a million threads on this, but I'm at work and can't track them down on my phone. If i put shackles on the rear to lift it some from that saggyness, do i need to put like special torsion keys on it?

Your rear end is sagging cause of weak springs, replace the springs and do it the right way especially if you tow. In theory, your idea would work but no u would not need torsion keys. You would just need to crank them, but no more than 8 turns. Another thing to think about is a lot of people after putting the t/s lift on had sagging problems in the rear, so I would imagine that your problem would just get worse

I am putting on some newer springs, was gonna have the local spring company re arch the new ones, but even with my hook up, would cost 100 bucks for that and them to push out the old bushings.

Was just thinking I might do it with the new springs.

Only thing I have to say, 10 turns to get my ride height in the front right. Then my rear sags about 4-5 inches lower...pain in the butt, just ordered the new bushings from rock auto tonight

Well if your getting new springs, I would just get the truck back to stock level height then do the t/s lift. That way you don't over stress any front end components

You want to revert to the correct front end height and replace your springs. Then look at what you need to do, don't over think this, just take your time and do it right. Besides, you first need to obtain the OEM front height BEFORE you crank the T-bars the 8 turns for the 2" lift, not 10 turns!

+1. That's what I was trying to get at. Won't most alignment shops set you to the correct height if u ask? This would be done before the lift

oh no Hydra, I got the 8. I was saying the way the truck is sitting right now (so it looks straight and everything) it takes 10 turns to get it to OEM height. I will do the springs and everything either this weekend or next, then do the lift following. Nice and slow. I just wanted to make sure i didn't need to get anything special to raise the front end. Can't wait to show the final Pictures. Thanks guys!
