Default problem with 4WD

have a 2003 durango w/ 4.7 L motor, when switched into 4 hi or lo something happens where it feels like the front calipers are stuck and the wheels don't want to turn, it still did it when i switched back to 2wd but i just turned switch back to 4 hi and then back to 2 wd again and it was fine. so it seems there is something up with the front transfer case or something, i just don't know what. any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated . thank you!

there is quite a bit of drag in the front end if you try to turn with the 4wd engaged on a dry surface.

also the entire front driveline spins all the time when you are driving so it is unlikely that is locked up

maybe some more details about what you are doing when you try driving, sraight line? turning? on pavement? on grass? gravel?

+1. If your on dry pavement the vehicle will seem to "lock up"
