Removing Plug Wires
Well, I took the chance and pulled on two of the wires and they popped of the plug just like they're supposed to so that's a relief. The wires do not look aged even though we've had the truck a year, so I bought new Champion copper core plugs, rotor and cap with brass contacts. Get those in and we'll see how it performs. The truck idles fine really, pretty smooth so I really don't think I have any conductivity issues.
Thanks fellas!

Replacing the ignition stuff wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. Once I got the breather tube out on the passenger side, access to the plugs was pretty easy. The hardest part was getting the cap out. I wanted to be able to pull the cap away with the wires attached and then transfer the wires to the new cap. Didn't work out that way. I'm in class at the moment but I have pics of the plugs I'm going to post. Most of the plugs had a gap of 45 so no wonder it struggled a bit.

believe it or not a gap of .045 is probably not such an issue on these trucks, the wear in your cap is likely more of a factor. (i have seen plugs worn to .080 on my old truck when it was first bought used and it still ran pretty well)
