Default 2001 Durango with abs and brake light light issue

I took my rango to the local firestone after getting the abs light and brake light on the cluster. Every now and then the brakes also dont work.... I have lots of brake dust on the drivers side rim and much less on the passenger side. Anyhow, firstone told me it tripped abs codes 25, 27 and 74. I am having difficulty finding those codes anywhere and would hate like hell to bring it to the good ol stealership and have them try to sell me everything under the sun. From what I have been reading I am hoping to get away with just replacing the drivers side ABS sensor. If that is the case, do I need to pull the brakes assembly and rotor off to do that? ANy suggestions guys? Thanks in advance!

sounds like your left front sensor is gone bad (drivers side is left) how to get that off you should look at the FAQ thread for the pdf file of the FSM, the 2002 manual will work fine for your truck.

as for the brake dust differences it sounds like your brake is dragging causing it to throw off alot more dust than the other side, this could be a sticky piston in the caliper, rusty pad slides, grooves worn into the pad slides, or your rubber brake hose on that side going bad (they tend to collapse from the inside and cause the brakes to stick)

your driverside hub bearing could be going bad. we had a ram 3500 with abs problems like you are having that the dealership couldn't figure out. what i ended up finding was the wheel bearings on the driver side went bad and took out the abs sensor. make sure you check the bearing before you buy a speed sensor because the new brearing assembly will come with it.
