Default I broke my durango :(

Earlyer I decided to take my durango through a little bit of mud and i drove down a path and in the path were some ruts and some water becuse it rained real hard the other day.

I stopped put it in neutral, put it in 4High and it said 4wd part time on the dash, it also said 4wd part time when i put it in 4low... I went through the hole, turned around went through it again, turned around went through it and turned back around went through it again and left. wasnt deep at all wasnt pushin it hard just goin slow through it. Right off the bat when I got on the road I knew something wasnt right. Heres the problem, when i gain some speed around 50mph or so it jerks really hard to the left and the steering wheel jerks to the left uncontrollably. Also when i hit the brakes and when it gets to around 25mph it jerks to the left really bad too, it feels like the right front tire is the one jerking.

I jacked it up and cant find anything wrong, wiggled both the wheels at 12 and 6 and it felt tight. Nothing looks out of the ordinary. Please help, it does not feel safe to drive at all!!!

Likely rocks/debris in the steering mechanism, BJs, TRE, Boots, etc.

Get them out in every location before driving again, crashing, dying, killing someone else, etc.

Place it in 4HI, then back to 2WD, then reverse a few hundred feet turning hard right and left. Kinda sounds like you are stuck between lock and unlock. Maybe this will help you "un-bind" the differentials.

Indydurango, i jacked it up and took each tire off and checked everything, ball joints look fine, tie rods look fine, cv joints look fine, didnt see any debris or rocks in the steering rack, nothing, there were a few ripped boots but i looked inside and saw no rocks or debris.

hydrashocker, im about to try that now.
Then im guna take it for a test drive....I will let you all know what happens.

Hydrashocker you are the man!!! I did what you said to do about 4 times. Then test drove it, it wasnt jerking at all, but when i hit the brakes the first time the steering wheel was a little shaky then quit but that might have been because i had the tires off and messing with the tie rod ends and everything. Drove it for a good 30 mins, with soft braking, hard braking, decelleration, hard accceleration, got it over 70mph, coasting, cruzing, I think its fixed.

EDIT: Also for some strange reason my power steering fluid was in the middle between add and full on the check cold part, when i had just filled it up before i left to go get it dirty. I know my leak has been getting worse but dang. Ill keep an eye on it, im going to get a power steering pressure hose, and a seal rebuild kit for the steering gear box.

I think the hose was 28 bucks on rockauto for mine and it came with the o-rings.

Chances are you have the same exact one as me. just pay attention to what you are ordering from them. They are pretty good. Pretty much all of my parts for my set of repairs came from them and they were all spot on aside from the stuff that I didn't get right.

EDELMANN Part # 71817 or
GATES Part # 360980
Same part different manufacturer. I pulled those up from your vehicle info. I checked out the dealer price for comparison shopping reasons and the pressure hose I got was $100 at the dealer... FYI you can probably get away with just replacing the o-ring/s that is typically what will fail. I would replace all of the o-rings just on principal if you are changing one so that you don't have to drain the system more than once.

ACDELCO Part # 36349640 Rack and pinion reseal kit
The pumps are the same between 2wd and 4wd and are all the right parts if you check into the pump reseal kit.
