Default Cold trans

Another question guys/gals. I just bought a used 2003 D w an alleged 76000 miles on it. When the D sits for a couple days and I start to take off

it's like the trans is in "1st"gear for a minute until the trans warms up. It kinda of "tanks" forward like a truck in 4 low. Is that characteristic of the

4.7? Thanks

normally they are a little sluggish after an overnight sit because the clutch fan is engaged, once it disengages you are usually fine from then on.

if this is not what you mean then idk what you are trying to describe, my 4.7 acts normal on a cold start with the exception of what i just described.

the clutch fan will also make quite a bit of noise until it disengages, this is normal for a short while after a long spell off.

Default "trans"

I really think that he is describing a sluggish torque converter after the fluid pools back into the pan and the pump needs to get it powered back up.

Mine does the same thing, but only takes 10-15 seconds to "get right".

Hey nice set up!! Yeah, it probably only takes about 15 seconds or so. I said a minute originally but it probably shorter.
