Default Play in control arm?

Started replacing my ball joints today and notice my drivers side upper control arm has in and out play. I can tell the slots for the mounting hardware are elongated for in and out adjustment but I'm not sure if it's supposed to have play all the time. Any advice?

Seems to me that your bolts aren't tight enough. Have you tried pulling the arm? I'd do that and post another video of the mount locations.

Do you mean removing it and seeing if there's marks from where it was before? If so then no. Good idea though. I'll give it a try tomorrow

exactly... take the arm completely off... that way you can see if there is something worn or where it was before. in another week ill be out of school and start tearing into my front suspension before going to the frame shop.
