OEM cat is a high flow CAT already, no reason to spend money on one marketed as 'high flow', just replace w/ an OEM unit and move on with it.

thing about it is..the magnaflow high flow cat is cheaper than the stock "high flow" cat...I would still buy magnaflow over factory any day..
I know this is universal fit, but with any welder, it would work fine..costing less than throwing money at rock auto, summit, or any high dollar supplier

Isn't the usual smell of a converter going bad is the smell of rotten eggs? I occasionally get my check engine light on, Bank 1 sensor 2 o2 sensor..then it goes back off...only shows code if it has been running for more than 20 minutes at idle...

a CAT that is no longer functioning smells like rotten eggs, however we are talkinga bout a clogged CAT situation here, it needs to be replaced.

Wow, I feel like I'm coming in last place, however Sooper's location in the top right hand corner easily and simply states his actual location, however Old School see's this an reacts with great information......Hmmmmmm?

All together it sounds like people aren't paying actual attention the the issues and the information provided by the people asking for information????? There is plenty of information describing what needs to be done to fix it, just search as the information is there.

IMO, if the CAT is clogged, it's no longer functioning properly. not sure why the disagreement? I just asked a random question about the smell of rotten eggs because believe it or not, some people don't know about why they get that smell. Secondly, if it were my money, I would find the best deal, keep the CAT, if it wasn't supposed to be there, Dodge would not have wasted time in putting it on.

yes it is no longer functioning properly if its clogged (partially of course) we are discussing the diagnosis methods, if it is clogged it will likely still smell fine bc what does get through is being treated correctly, its just not letting enough flow through to run the engine correctly so the rotten egg smell would not be present

the truck will most certainly throw a code for a bad CAT, that is why there is a post CAT Oxygen sensor in there, however it is unlikely that it will pick up a clogged CAT condition
