My son has blown the ring and pinion on his 2000 Durango. It has or should I say had an 8.25 axle with 3.55 gears. I can not seem to find another 8.25 axle, but I am able to get a 9.25 axle with the same gears for $200 out of a 2001 Durango. Am I able to just swap in the 9.25 axle seeing how it has the same gears? Or are the perches and or the yoke different?

 

you should be able to swap the 9.25 in without any issues, iirc all the parts leading up to the axle are the same number.
