Default Weird one! 2003 Durango starts easily, no power to certain things

OK, maybe somebody can explain this one. I haven't started my Durango for 5 days, Thursday night to Tuesday night, and when I tried to unlock it with the remote, I got nothing. I unlocked my car with the key and tried to use the power door locks to unlock the other doors, FAIL. I try to start the truck and the engine cranks and turns over easily. While the truck is running, i press on the accelerator and the engine revs fine. The headlights, interior lamps, power door locks, and the first 5 speed settings of the windshield wipers do NOT work. The dashboard lights also do not illuminate, but the notification light for the seatbelt is illuminated as well as the SERVICE 4WD light. Besides the 2 fastest settings for the wipers, the power windows, radio, cigarette lighter, and odometer all work. The truck does drive without problem. I can drive forwards and in reverse without any hint of an engine stall. The brake lights and reverse lights work as well.

Any ideas? Is there not enough juice in the battery to get the other systems working? After driving for 10 minutes, I hesitantly killed the engine, and then re-started it after a few minutes without any problem.

I'm hoping somebody can give some advice on what I should do from here. Thanks all!

I would say its the CTM module. But i am not 100% on that. I'm sure some other people will chime in on this soon.

that many electrical problems all at once (especially the remote locks not working) points me at the CTM, it is the receiver for the remote locks as well as the 'brain' of all the electronic systems you are having trouble with.

cant be done at a shop, you MUST have a dealer program the CTM to your VIN and vehicle options, bring your key fobs with you so that you can keep your remote locks working.

AFAIK its a dealer only part

Get ready for a shock, I just had mine replaced for many of the same reasons and it was about $600 for part and labor for my 03. But I would say 99% sure that is your problem.

thanks for the info jjphurst. i gave my dealership a call, and the service is $180 and then i was transferred to the Parts department, and i was quoted $449.35 for a new one. i immediately did searches for a used one on ebay and i payed $130. let's hope this used one doesn't crap out on me anytime soon! for those reading, the part # for a 2001-2003 Durango is 56049073.

Thanks again everybody for all your input. i'll post again once everything gets installed.
