Default ABS module compatibility

I am trying to sell an ABS computer module on ebay. It is from a 2000 durango 4x4 with the 4.7. A person wants to know if it is compatible with a 2000 Dodge Dakota SLT 4.7L ext.cab and if the part number has to match exactly. Thanks for any knowledge about this.

Dakota has two part numbers, 5017702AA and 5017706AA. The durango has a part number 5017703AA. So I would say your answer is no. I also added some other information.

Tech Tip Part Description: ABS Module

Tech Tip Description: When replacing the ABS module on some Dodge Dakota & Durango models special means are required to program the pinion factor. The DRB IIIŽ code 56.0 is not able to program the pinion factor on 1998 to 2000 Durango and 2002 Dakota Quad Cabs. The Fix:

While Fix #1 is the main work around and the one most highly recommended, there are 2 more viable solutions which can be used to successfully program the pinion factor.

1) An updated development build (Build 56.07) currently found on the DTO website (available to corporate users) and allows Tech Advisors to field fix vehicles in the interim.

2) Dealers who have not updated all their available DRB IIIŽs to Release 56.0 can use the older versions of software where the problem does not exist to program vehicles.

The revised code release will correspond to CIS CD 2140 arriving at the dealers the week of 1 September 2003.
