Default Coolant amount after flush

Ok...I flushed my system today with the hose. Let it drain. Replaced the t-stat. tightened everything back up used the "breather plug" on the 4.7 and filled the system up. It only took 7 quarts when then manual says the

system takes 14.1. I ran the engine up to operating temp turned on the front and rear heat. Turned off the car let it cool down and it's still full. What

did I do wrong? Thank you

P.s. the 7 quarts includes the overflow tank

Got it. I read there are plugs in the engine block but that just doing a partial exchange without pulling the drain plugs would be good enough. Thoughts? Thank you

exchanging most of the coolant should be just fine, however you need to make sure that final fill is sill 50/50 anti-freeze to water, you can buy testers to check this
