Default Electric cooling fan

Im looking at getting a 16 inch electric cooling fan to replace the bulky fan and fan clutch. I was just wondering where i could put the temperature sensor or if i could splice it in to the stock temp sensor? the fan is supposed to flow 2500 cfm. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've been running the sensor kit that came with my Flex-a-Lite fan for almost seven years now with no hiccups. You can pick up the kit with the probe for around $25 at a number of places online...

how you set it up depends alot on which fan controller you decide to purchase, the SPAL unit is a popular one, and i believe that one can be spliced into the factory sensor, or used with one of their own sensors. exact location for this extra sensor will depend on which engine you have.

I'm actually in the process of replacing my clutch fan with an all electric setup too. I'm going to use a fan from a 95 taurus that moves 3750cfm and is dual speed. For the controller I'm going to be using a dakota digital pac-2700. Instead of splicing into the factory temp sensor or using a radiator probe I bough a little adapter that splices into the upper radiator hose and has a spot for a standalone temperature sensor on it.

Here's a link to the write up I've been following to do this. The original instructions are on the first 2 pages and my posts about which parts I bought are on pags 5, 6, & 7.

Hope this helps
