powersteering oil cooler... where the heck does it mount???
so the new pump i got from the pick n pull came with a cooler on it and i cant for the life of me find where it mounts. i know someone here has to have one... where does it mount? anyone able to get a pic as well?
on mine it looks like it is just connected to the pump by the hard line, however it probably uses the same mount as the pump.
the ps return line connects to the cooler.

indys picture is different than the one on my truck (i have a 4.7l), however it looks like you only need to remove ONE of the ps pump mounting bolts on yours, mine is similar in theory but in a different position (i checked)
When I did the power steering lines on my D - I removed the plastic guard under the front of the truck - the same one that you reach up through for the oil filter.
Takes maybe 5 minutes and it made it... ohhh... about 10 times easier to see.

The photo is a bit different SS because your 2002 would to be different based on year and the stated fact the 4.7 is a completely different PS setup. The diagram is from the FSM for a 1998 since his D is a 1998.

It just hangs off the bottom. Not mounted against the engine.

Ok that's what I did. I find it strange there are two holes for mounting on the cooler and only one got used
