Default 5.9 RT low power

Just so evyerone knows im talking about a 2002 durango 5.9 RT

Thoguht I would get someone elses opinion. I just replaced my head gasket on my durango while I was doing that I took the head apart and cleaned it up. I put in everything back how it should go and the car started up just fine no leaks oil looks good and no bubbles in coolant. With that said the moment I got it all back together I did a compression check from each cylinder it ranged form 90-125....which seemed low anyway, my mechanic I usually go to when I do not want to do things on my own suggested maybe since I took the head apart and the valves out and cleaned them I will have to sort of "break it in" the car starts fine drives fine although it does feel like a lack of power idles perfectly smooth, just wanted to see if everyone agrees maybe drive it around for 100 miles and check the compression again?

on another note I did break my kickdown cable and im pretty sure I can ghetto rig something up but any suggestion on where to just maybe buy the plastic piece that it attaches to?

That does seem low for compression, did you compression test it before the head gasket fix? Also did the valves have lots of build up on them?

I am sure this is out of the question but with the compression that low is it time for a rebuild? I did a compression test on mine and it was about 150 per cylinder. I believe the 5.9 came out of the factory with about 160 165 per cylinder. How many miles?

it only has about 109000 miles the valves had a bit of build up on them but not really anything to excessive I did run a compression test before it was about 130 per cylinder......keep in mind I only ran the durango for about 30 minutes after fixing it then shut it down and did the compression check which the lowest cylinder got 90 and the highest got 130 ....really do not want to tear it down again but will do whatever it takes I love my durango!

Do a wet compression test (put some oil down the spark plug holes) and check. They will all be better but it will tell you if the problem lies in the piston rings or if it is a valve/head problem.
