When I turn on my AC in my Durango, I immediately get this loud squeeling noise coming from what sounds like to be a belt of something under the hood. This happens probably every 7 out of 10 times. What would this be? It usually just does it when I turn the AC on right after I start the car and only makes the noise once I use the gas pedal. But if I turn the AC off, the noise stops. Any ideas?

check the a/c compressor and its drive pulley it soundsl ike that is where the noise is coming from.

 

Could be a bad pulley on the compressor or a bad belt.
