Default My first DIY Tune-up

So I don't have a lot of experience working on vehicles, but reading these forums, I feel confident enough to start doing minor things to my truck.

This weekend I'm planning on my first Tune up. I'll likely go to Napa to get the parts I need, but not sure which wires to get. I've seen that MSD 8.5mm red wires or OEM are recommended, but the options on Napa(Canada)'s website are

Mileage Plus (PN 27876),
Premium (700100), or
HD (69428).

Are any of these direct OEM replacement?

planning on the following for the rest:
Cap: MO29
Rotor: MO26
Plugs: Champion 436 (copper plus) or Champion 9203 (iridium) gapped at .040
Plugs will depend on the mood I'm in when I get there (cheap or spendy)

Any other tips from the pros/vets?

Thanks in advance!

definitely get the copper plugs (gapped at .040), that's what the engine was designed for.

tip: change one spark plug and wire at a time so you don't get the wires mixed up. If you change the cap get some masking tape and mark the wires and terminals on the cap you so know they're in the right place.

Thanks for the tips! I hadn't even considered masking tape...

Managed to change out cap, rotor, and wires. Plugs were another issue though.

I'm not sure if they had ever been changed, but after a couple hours of trying to get the first one out, and subsequently breaking it, I had to limp the truck over to a shop (on 7 cylinders) and have them change the plugs out. Fortunately there was no head damage, but I was still pretty choked.
