Some tips for off-roading

Here are some things I learned the hard way this weekend:
1. Di-electric grease. Use plenty of this on plug wires and coil wires or face a nasty mis-fire if you soak your engine until it dries out (This is not fun)
2. Catalytic converters get very hot and can be thermo-shocked. I was out for about 40 mins doing some trails and flying through so soft sand. Then I drove through some freezing cold water. Now most of you know where this is going, I ended up having glowing red chunks of catalytic convert come out my tail pipe, looked under my truck and the cat was still glowing red after that soaking of cold water
Now I suspect my cat may have gotten a little contaminated from my plenum that caused it to get so hot.
Morale of the story, be prepared for unexpected issues.
