Info on towing a 2003 Durango
Hi, as well as running the shop here I also operate several tow trucks, I would completely agree with the previous answer...... carrier, flatbed or car trailer, I have seen people towing Durango's behind RV's before but in my experience it is always best to have the drive wheels off the road! However, if yours is a two wheel drive, then rent a tow dolly and some tow lights, strap her down well and off you go! If you do tow a two wheel drive this way, make sure that the steering wheels are locked in the straight position, we usually straighten them, wrap the seat belt around the steering wheel, fit a ratchet strap between the wheel and the brake pedal, and, just to satisfy the CHP DOT guy, we also tie a rope through the steering wheel and trap it between the door and the windshield post!
There are many tow companies who offer very reasonable rates for long distance shipping, I am not one of them though! Go and enter CTTA in your search engine and any of the members of that organisation will be able to recommend someone.
