Yes you are correct, i only had about 3-4K miles on that filter....

Fram claims that with the extra guard filter it give 3x the engine protection, traps 95% more dirt then any other filter and last for over 5,000 mile oil changes.....

Well folks, there is your proof......

You know what's better than a Fram filter? A soda can stuffed with coffee filters duct taped to the engine block.

Seriously, for Fram money, Wix filters are great quality. That's what I use on my beater engines.

purolator makes the best filter per $$ out there (maybe not the best filter available, but the best filter in their price range) they are what i recommend for a budget filter (i paid less than $4 at walmart for mine.

The oil is good after 21,000 miles because it burns a quart every 1k so thats 21 quarts since the last oil change. It still looks clear on the dip stick.

Its only $3 more for a Wix filter over a Fram. I spend a little more on oil. I will do the same with the filter.
