I did a YouTube video of my installation. I'll post if here when it's done to get your feedback. Let me know if you think it's worthy of the general public.

I used a long handle 90 degree needle nose pliers, from O'rilley's, ground down the tips til had good contact and clearance. Laid them up against water pump, held with one hand, used crescent wrench on other.. note a 10" is just enough so you don't have to buy 15" crescent. If its close you can file the screw back a little so the jaws open more.

Glad it turned out well for you. You notice any less drag on the engine on cold startups?
Nice video too. Were a few of the blades on the mechanical fan bent or was it just me?

I haven't driven a whole lot yet, but not having that clutch fan on there is evident. On cold starts, it would take about a mile before it mellowed out and you got your power back. Now, obviously that's not happening which is a good thing.

Any idea what the speed difference on the Taurus fan is between Low and High? It blows so well on high, it makes me wonder if you can get by with it on Low.

I know on high it moves around 3750cfm of air. Not sure on low though, maybe around half of that.

Bringing this back from the dead, but I'm researching how to do this on my 99' .
But my truck has only a mechanical fan on it now,no electric fan at all.
Would the wiring for hookup roughly be the same?

On a 99 you'll have to make your own wiring like I did on mine. You'll need a controller of some sort, 1 or 2 relays, and some wiring (I forget if I used 8 or 10 gauge wire).
