Default rear end shudder.

So i have a 98 durango with the 5.2l 4x4 and i had the rear end completely rebuilt 18k ago (all new bearings, ring gear pinion etc....) it has the 3.93 LSD diff. recently after driving on the freeway for 5+ miles when i stop on the off ramp and go to take off even slowly there is a shudder in the rear of the durango it feels like driving over a cattle guards slowly. any ideas.

Pull the diff cover of and do a inspection for wear and tear and any damage

Have you checked your tires back there? It's just a thought but I just replaced the rear tires of my Cadillac because of a similar problem. It started with a shudder at high speed, then it started at low speeds as well. It turned out that I had a steel belt that had separated inside the right rear tire. It might be something as simple as that.

if it started around the time you got the tires id take it back to the tire place and complain that it started bc you probably got a faulty tire, they should replace it free of charge
