Default 4x4 PT

ok guys, so ive been trying to fireguard out what and the heck 4x4 part time means. now ive read all kinds of posts on the matter and im still confused.

i only have PT on my durango ive used it many time in the mud, so the only thing im gathering is that i shouldn't drive it on the road while in 4x4. hahah im so confused... it would be awesome if someone could fill me in.
thanks!

4x4 pt is part time as you know and it means just that, it is for PART TIME use only, meaning low traction situations only, do NOT use it on pavement

My impression of pt 4x4 is what most of us grew up calling 4x4. You used it when you needed it. Maybe some people thought they could use it like full time 4x4 so the started to call it part time 4x4 to keep people from tearing stuff up.

Some are full-time 4x4 and have part time in the same transfer case nv241 or my old 80s Subaru had selectable 4x4. Fwd then locked the rear up.

My mom and dads blazer has it where it locks in 4x4 when the rear tires break loose
