Default Turbocharger

I have a 99 D 4x4 with the 318 and since im basically going to be ripping the whole thing apart here in the next year or so i was wondering about a turbo. The engine is getting a rebuild with a mild cam and im going to have the pcm mapped by hughes engines, and the trannys getting a new torque converter and shift kit and a rebuilt transfer case. and with all the upgrades i might be close to 400 engine hp. Ive seen videos of D's with turbos but has anyone here done it? Is there any part of the drivetrain that needs to be beefed up? im getting yukon 4.11 gears in the front and rear also.

Someone may chime in soon but there are not alot of turbo owners here. The only D's i know run a rear mounted STS with fastmann trans, and a stand alone . I have nothing against turbo's but for the D i'd choose a super as its more of a tried and true application as they outnumber the turbo owners-more support.

I know supercharging these truck would be a more common way to do it. Eventually mom and dad's will probably get that treatment too.

I've seen videos online of a few turbo'd dakotas. You may want to check over in the dakota section too.
