Default sound coming from wheel well

2001 4x4 durango 8 cyl.
lately I've been hearing a sound coming from the wheel well. Ever hear the sound of a p/u truck thats been lifted and have those huge a$$ tires and the sound that they make? well that's what I've been hearing which I never heard before coming from my Durango. thought it might have been the tires, but just got them replaced tonight and sound is still there. on the way home, i did notice that when I turned the steering wheel to the right just a little, the sound goes away just after I turned the wheel and the it came back once i straightened out.
is it the breaks rubbing? or something else?

thanks,
Howard

Sounds like a wheel bearing assembly is going out.

X2 on the wheel bearing. I believe mine was about 60 bucks at advanced auto. It depends on when or if yours was ever changed as to how hard it will come out. Mine needed some "massaging" you will need to take your caliper, pads, rotor, and axle nut off. Then there are 3 or 4 bolts on the back that you take out. From that point is where mine Was seized and had to hammer it out against the back of the hub.

i agree with the wheel bearing, which way do you turn to make it go away? the opposite side is most likely the bad one (turn right and it goes away the left is bad, ect)
