Default sitting along side the high way

So im driving and just lose power all at once. When i click the key on and off there's no fuel pump noise. But if i try to start it it spits and chugs then dies. Pressed the Schroeder valve on the fuel rail and fuel just trickles out. I assume fuel pump but where is it getting fuel to spit and sputter? Any ideas?

check the valve w/ the key in the ON position, if the key is off there is no requirement for fuel pressure, if the key is on then i would say the pump is dead

you may want to check the fuel pump relay first. you may luck out and find that it's just a bad relay

The key was on. I Swapped the horn relay with the fuel pump. Nothing happened. Wonder if the pressure in the tank was enough to force fuel through the lines.

simply put, no thats not possible, the fuel rail is above the top of the tank, even with a full tank of fuel that wont happen bc of gravity

sounds like your sending unit took a dump. thats ****ty dude. dropping a tank isnt fun. most all fuel tanks that i have dropped i have ended up having to replace to straps cuz there mostly rusted and they bend and split when dropping or the bolts are ceased and i end having to drill em out and re tap the threads.
so best of luck to ya man.

Well update time. Soaked down my tank strap bolts. Very first one the nut welded to the frame broke lose and was seized on the bolt. Had to cut it off. Then the tank slipped off my jack and ripped the rubber filler and vent hoses. (was 3/4 full) so i get it out start to tap the locking ring off and its so rusted it basically just crumbles off. And the tabs that are built into the tank to lock it are all but gone. Sigh when it rains it pours. If i go oe I'm lookin close to 900 bucks. Anyone have any Ideas other than the bone yard? I plan to buy the pump new but am up for suggestions on the rest. I found straight rubber hose rated for gasoline use at Napa. Is there a kit to swap out my rusted locks or are they molded to the tank.
