Default using key for codes
I know you can check codes by turning the key 3 times and if have a code it will show. Do you turn the key to acc? Will that only work if the engine light is on? thanks

You turn it from the off position to run (where the car operates) 3 times stopping on run the 3rd time. I believe it will show any stored codes even if the light is off.

it will show p-done if the light is off, it only shows codes that trip the light to read soft codes (codes that dont trip the lights) will not show up

Sorry man didn't mean to steer you wrong. My mistake. The process of getting the codes if you do have a light is right though.
