Default 99 Durango won't start

Hey, guys. Just wanted to post this as I've experienced it. I'm sure it's already been asked before, but I don't know how to search through the forums to find the post that would answer my question, as I'm sure it's already been answered already in the past here. My Durango turns over, has plenty of spark, but will not start. I'm not sure if it's the fuel pump or the ECM, but I would like to fix it myself.

I've already replaced the Heater Core, rebuilt the Transmission, and replaced the Rear Main Seal, and the Head Gasket. I figure there isn't much more that can go wrong at this point- until yesterday morning when I had to wake up the wife at 4am to drive me to the Train station. LoL. Please Advise.

Thank You

Have you check the fuel pressure to make sure you are getting gas ??

+1 Check the fuel pressure ... IIRC on our trucks it should be around 50 PSI

there is a valve on the fuel rail (looks like a tire valve) and you get a fuel pressure tester and hook it up, then turn the key on and see what it reads, if it reads good start cranking and see if it drops and if so by how much (it shouldnt fluctuate much)

Default Sorry about that

It is a 5.9L V-8 360. And I bought a testing gage, turned on the ignition and put the gage on the fuel rack test fitting, and no pressure at all. I'm pretty sure the Fuel Pump is not working. I have no volt meter to check it and see if it's getting power, so I'm kind of at a loss. I was just going to try my luck and buy a new Fuel Pump and swap it out.

First, check to see if the fuse and relay are ok.. they are located on the PDC under the hood. You can get a digital multimeter anywhere for under $15 bucks... i would swap out both fuse and relay with a know good one and go from there.

Already spent $50 on a test gage, and another $26 on a Chilton's to replace my old oil stained one... I can see this getting out of hand. On a 99 4x4 I'll probably have to drop the fuel tank to replace the fuel pump. If that is actually the problem.

When you turn the key to on (not start) the fuel pump will run about three seconds
have some one listen at the gas tank to here if it is running. If not check your relays and fuses if they are good then it is probably the fuel pump.
Checking with a gauge is a good idea.
