Default Oil pressure out the roof...

My 99 durango 5.2 has had oil pressure around 60-70 for a week now even while at an idle. What is its problem

From the 1998 FSM:

The MINIMUM oil pressure is 41.4 kPa (6 psi). The NORMAL oil pressure is 207-552 kPa (30-80 psi)
With that said, I don't see a problem......

yeah that's within the normal range. If you're worried about it, change the oil and filter and then go from there.

It doped into the 20s and 10w30 still working...Valvaline high mile. That seems normal. Would not go any higher than 30 it also might go up with additives like STP or Lucy's.

If you had the oil changed recently then they might have installed 10W-40 and that would do that. You should be running 10W-30 in your ride.

as stated above, well within the normal range, mine hits 90 when its cold outside (think below freezing) on first cold starts and as low as 25 at idle when its hot out at full operating temperature

also if you are using the digital gage in the dash the sensor could be bad giving you a false reading, my readings are from a mechanical gage.
