2001 Durango with switch on the dash for transfer case. Lights work and i can hear the hubs lock but the front wheels won't spin...any suggestions?

 

If you can hear it then I would suspect either a blown cv or bad u joint. Shouldn't make any noise

 

The hubs don't lock because they are already locked. Make sure you are just slightly rolling while trying to lock in the 4X4.

 

+1 the hubs on these trucks never unlock, you are hearing the t-case shifting, after engaging 4x4 try making a tight turn on dry pavement (dont do this often, its for diagnostic purposes only) the truck should bind up and really take extra gas to get through the turn and you should hear the tires skip/squeal
