Default Front Washer and Wiper Issue

'99 Durango 5.2

Woke up this morning and got into the Durango. Turned the key and the front wipers started up along with the windshield washer pump. Adjusting the controls changed nothing.

I pulled the wiper relay, which stopped the wipers, but the pump continued to run, the only way to stop the pump was to pull the wiper fuse (they apparently run on the same circuit??). I did not want to burn out the motor, but I really could use my wipers.

Is there an easy fix to this? I cannot seem to find anybody else with the same problem on the web lol..

Thanks in advance!

You could unplug the pump at the revoir so that you can have your wipers when you need them. Don't really have am idea for you other than maybe a bad multi function switch.

Check the relays at the PDC.

Unplugging the pump was my next planned step, though the wipers would be on all the time, but at least its a temporary solution.

I've pulled the wiper relay and that did stop the wipers, but the fluid pump kept on going.
