Default Help with mystery plug in 2002 durango

When I was getting into my wifes 2002 Durango SLT I noticed this little plug hanging out next to the parking brake. Anybody recognize this or have any idea where it belongs? When I touched it to take the photos the whole wire came out. It looks like the wire has worn through at whatever it connects to. I have been having an two evap codes and service 4x4 light has come on. Hopefully somebody recognizes this. One of the CTM plugs? Wires are blue, yellow, and red.

Looks like an aftermarket alarm connection. The brain most likely was under the dash.

Have to agree with the aftermarket plug of some sort... IIRC the CTM is mounted over on the passenger side somewhere...

x3 on the aftermarket plug but the CTM was moved behind the drivers side kick panel in '01. Up thru '00 they were located on the right side of the glove box.

I would say that is for either an aftermarket alarm or remote start.

Thanks for quick replies guys. I had the flu for the last couple days so couldnt get out to check but I think your all correct about the remote start. The funny thing is that the remote start is fully functional. Is there any chance that the shorted wires that were left behind at the remote start box are causing my problem of not having juice to the 4x4 shift switch? I dont have 5 volt power to the shifter switch but I do have a 10volt. Im not sure how the remote starts work with the computer on these and what problems they might cause. Thanks again for the help.
