Default 2001 Dodge Durango SLT won't restart when warm,

Hey guys! This issue I'm having is that the truck won't after I've driven for any significant amount time. I have to wait till it cools down for it start again. It turns over but won't start! Any help or suggestions are much appreciated, thanks!

sounds like the pcm might be getting too hot.

i would check the crank and cam position sensors to start with, as long as it will run 'indefinitely' and not stall out/shut itself down i wouldnt expect it to be a PCM issue without first ruling out the smaller, much much cheaper items first

Starter , just did mine did the same this , the gear in the starter warms up and expands when it cools it allows it to move freely again ,

Default Same problem

I am having the exact same problem as you. It drives like a champ then when I try to restart it it just cranks and cranks. If i wait 45 minutes or so it fires right up. I got it to stop doing this by replacing the distributor cap/rotor. Now 1 month later.... same thing again....looked inside the distributor cap and its all carboned up again. I cleaned the contacts and vroom.... Now, once again, same problem again. If I hit the distributor with a soft hammer it also start right up! I replaced these parts already so I am thinking maybe cam sensor or ignition coil at this point, what do you think?

Alright! Replaced the PCM with a new unit from Autocomputer Exchange and so far the problems solved! Thanks for everyone's input and advice! Mcboden, I would try the PCM! Ordered Monday, got it Tuesday afternoon. Best of luck and thanks again!
