Ive added sea foam to my engine through my throttle body numerouse times with no problems. It works great, burns out all the crud in the engine. I want to try adding it to my oil now.

Quit running 40w. These engines require 30w. Sounds like you are having a sludge issue and having to thick of an oil could be the cause. Besides 40w in the u.s. is pretty much diesel only and diesel tend to have more force internally and need the thicker oil. There are exceptions and they run 30w.

Thanks for your info. I had a friend give me the same tip some time ago. When I bought oil this time I just ... had forgotten. I will remember now

kind of ironic. I literally just got off the highway after running seafoam thru the booster hose. This is the first time ive done it to this vehicle so i wont know until this afternoon if it helped my rough idle. I can attest to sea foam being great for cleaning out dirty oil. I use it once a year. Usually 50-60 miles before the next oil change. It works very well in getting rid of any dirt. I use it about every 5th or 6th tank of gas as well. Sea foam is the only additive of any kind i trust enough to put in my D.

I know nothing of this wondrous snake oil.
Why not add a small amount to the gas tank, instaed of thru the TB?
Brake booster?
