My 02 Darango has loss of power when i get on it, hot or cold. also if i'm going down the highway at 70 it will buck and slow down while holding speed untill it clears by letting off throtle and just slowly adding gas. also the ring around the "D" on the dash is flickering it seems when this happens sometimes. i was told at the parts store there is no fuel filter to change that i should replace the fuel pump. i have no check light on. this suv is new to me it's the 5.9. any thoughts

there is a fuel filter, but it is integral to the fuel pump,

the gear indicator ring flickering points me to a TCM connection or gauge cluster connection issue, i lean towards the TCM in this case

 

Could this be a short in a wire. A spark issue. It revs up and dies off in a second usually when entering or exiting a road or if you just try and go faster

 

i went 5 weeks with this loss of power issue only happening twice. i havent fixed anything because the issue stopped for sometime. it only happened 2 times since my last post for the first 3 or 4 miles in my 16 mile ride to work and then it would stop then today it rained kinda heavy and it did it almost all the way to work. 10 miles then cleared then off and on the rest of the ride in. on the way home 2 or 3 miles then cleared the rest of the way. it was not raining. eveytime it acts up the gear indcator ring on the dash flickers. i don't even know where to start.
